Meet our resident Redcoat, Ash Garcia. Originally from the UK, Ash maintains her dual citizenship even though she has lived in Colorado for over a decade. Ash designs and updates packaging and labels for all our products. Her eye for design comes in handy when creating marketing materials, wholesale collateral, and advertising. In addition to all this, she helps our Formulation Manager keep track of inventory to make sure everything stays in stock and ready to ship to our loyal customers.
Although Ash grew up in the UK, she graduated from Longmont High School in Colorado before going on to get her BSBA in Marketing from CU Boulder. Following college, Ash found work as the Marketing Manager of a local liquor store. While the work was steady, she kept thinking that there was a more meaningful way to use her degree out there. She wanted to find a way to have a positive impact on people’s lives.
One day while looking around online, Ash happened across a job posting from Extract Labs. At the time, the position was for a customer service representative. Having experience with cannabis herself, she saw it as a perfect opportunity.
Cannabis has helped me with several different medical conditions, and with it being an up and coming industry, I wanted to jump on the train as I saw how much it was helping people.
At the time, all of the design work for Extract Labs was done by an outside agency who also was handling our website. She quickly learned that dealing with them could be an ordeal. Response times were slow, revision requests took days at a time, labels would be inconsistently sized. She decided to let her team know that she had experience using the same programs the agency was using and offered to take lead on it.
Now known as “Label Lady”, Ash is responsible for making updates to current packaging, creating new designs for upcoming products, and keeping up with ordering packaging.
