For us there is nothing greater than that first sip of coffee to begin the next adventure.
Founders Jay and Landon –stewards of the land and outdoor fanatics– found connection sharing their wild tales of adventure and love of the outdoors over their morning cups of coffee. But this was not just any coffee, it was custom roasted at the ranch in Sedalia, CO, at an altitude of over 6000ft, in micro batches to ensure maximum flavor. And it was virtually unknown to the rest of the world.
It became clear to both men that they needed to partner to share their passion and their fuel. And so, as they saying goes: it became a match made in…well Sedalia. Shared values along with the drive to bring this great coffee to the consumer are how Bearded Man Coffee was born. The rest has yet to be written. Stay tuned and welcome to our journey.
The Bearded Man Difference
Meet your new favorite cup of coffee. The fine folks at Bearded Man Coffee aren’t just simply buying some coffee beans, roasting them, and then just putting their products out there hoping to make some fans. They are in the business of redefining coffee as we know it and creating the world’s first and only craft coffee pod.
Gone are the days of wasteful K-Cups. While your typical doughnut shop blends are satisfied to be packing their inferior coffee blends into little plastic parcels in the name of convenience, Bearded Man scoffs at the idea of putting more plastic into our landfills. They wanted to make the K-Cup trend more sustainable, but there simply wasn’t anything out there that was eco-friendly. So, they put their passion to work and developed a proprietary pod from environmentally friendly materials. Their single-serve pods are made from bamboo fiber and cornstarch – making them 100% compostable and biodegradable.
While having sustainable packaging would be a great benefit on its own, their pods offer another distinct advantage over those nameless K-Cups in the waiting room of your doctor’s office – unmatched freshness. Once coffee beans go through the roasting process, they begin to offgas, emitting carbon dioxide and nitrogen gases. This is why a fine cup of coffee will always have a bit of a natural foam on the top of it, creating bubbles as the gas escapes the coffee. Naturally, this is undesirable if the coffee grounds are destined for a totally sealed container like a K-Cup, so they are instead filled with stale coffee to prevent them from ballooning up and bursting.
With Bearded Man’s pods being made from bamboo, they are breathable. So instead of having to use old, stale coffee, they can fill them fresh, and the offgas will escape through the natural fiber. The end result of their dedication: a consciously curated, craft coffee pod experience. Before you write these off as “just another coffee pod”, do yourself a favor.
