Tea is a wonderful beverage enjoyed year-round, offering warmth in the colder months and refreshment when the weather heats up. However, nothing says summer quite like a tall glass of refreshing sun tea. This delightful beverage is easy to make and bursting with natural flavor, making it the perfect drink to quench your thirst on a warm, sunny day!

    What is Sun Tea?

Sun tea is a type of iced tea that is brewed using the power of the sun. Allowing the tea bags to infuse in a container of water left out in the sunlight, you can create a smooth and flavorful tea with minimal effort.

    How to Make Sun Tea

    Ingredients:

    • 4 to 6 tea bags, this recipe uses green tea but any favorite will do
    • 1 gallon of fresh, cold water
    • A large glass jar or pitcher with a lid
    • ½ gram of CBG isolate
    • Optional: 3-4 Tbsp honey and lemon slices

    Instructions:

    1. Choose your preferred tea bags and amount, you can always add more tea bags for a stronger batch.
    2. Fill your large glass jar or pitcher with one gallon of fresh, cold water. Make sure the container is clean before filling.
    3. Place 4 to 6 tea bags into the water. Tie the strings of the tea bags together to make them easier to remove later.
    4. Cover the jar or pitcher with its lid or a piece of plastic wrap and place the container in a sunny spot outdoors, indirect sunlight usually works best.
    5. Let the tea steep in the sun for 3 to 5 hours allowing the sun to naturally infuse the tea into the water.
    6. After 3 hours, check the tea for color and taste. If it’s not strong enough, leave it in the sun for another hour or two.
    7. Once the tea has reached your desired strength, remove the tea bags and discard them.
    8. Add in the isolate, honey, and lemon slices and chill to serve anytime. This recipe will make 16, 8-ounce tea glasses with about 30mg of CBG per serving!
