A Journey From Chicago to Colorado
After earning her associates degree from the College of DuPage, Luisa continued her education at the University of Illinois Chicago. But her journey didn’t end there. Luisa took a leap of faith and relocated to Colorado, where she found a calling at Extract Labs. For the past two years, Luisa has been thriving in her role at the company. - What do you enjoy most about working at Extract Labs?
What I enjoy most about working at Extract Labs is the sense of community and team environment. Everyone is incredibly supportive and collaborative, and everyone is passionate about the company’s mission and values. I also find it deeply fulfilling to hear positive stories from our customers. It’s rewarding to know that the work we are doing is improving people’s lives through natural and effective CBD solutions.
- What is a favorite book, TV show, and movie?
My favorite book is Still Life Woodpecker by Tom Robbins. It is a love story that explores the purpose of the moon all while unfolding within a pack of Camel cigarettes. My favorite quote is: “It’s never too late to have a happy childhood.” My favorite show is The Gilmore Girls and my favorite movie is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I’m a sucker for drama and romance.
- If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
If I could travel anywhere in the world it would be to Japan. Japan is a unique and fascinating country with a rich culture, beautiful scenery, and delicious food. I’d love to drink tea, eat sushi and ramen, explore the mountains, Harajuku, see the cherry blossoms and buy all the Hello Kitty stationary and nick nacks possible.
- What is a fun fact about you?
I find joy in expressing myself creatively in various forms. Drawing and painting are two of my favorite ways to express myself as well as collaging to create unique visuals. I enjoy both writing and reading as a form of expression, as well as videography and photography, allowing me to capture the beauty of the world around me. I’ve also explored metalsmithing to create my own silver jewelry. Overall, creative expression and art play an essential role in my life, and I am always excited to create something new.
