Thank you to everyone who came out to the first-ever Boulderthon full and half marathon. CBD is changing the face of athletics recovery and training, so we feel deeply grateful to be the presenting sponsor for the inaugural event in Boulder, where Extract Labs planted its roots.
Over 2,000 people participated in the race that started at Boulder Reservoir and ended in the heart of downtown on Pearl Street. Full marathon first-place finisher, 34-year-old Mike Binder from Erie, completed the 26.2 miles in a swift 2:53:11, a 6:36 pace. Anke Schoettle out of Denver took first for women at 3:25:52, a 7:51 pace. For the half, Kathryn Harrison of Denver finished in 1:26:11 (6:34 pace), just shortly after Joel Toppin out of Westminister completed the course in 1:14:43 (5:41 pace).
Our booth was located just a few steps away from the finish line, where we were able to see the lively crowds and hear the clanking cowbells as runners— including a few representing the Extract Labs team— pushed themselves in the final stretch.
We gave away free tee shirts and sold hundreds of discounted products. Thank you to all of the people who stopped by our tent (including race director Phil Dumontet’s parents who traveled in from New Jersey). We loved meeting you all face-to-face and learning about how you incorporate cannabidiol into your daily lives and athletic routines. There is a lot of energy around the CBD and sports movement. We can’t wait to see what the future will bring.
Congratulations to all the runners! We hope to see you next year!Â
