The recommended dosage of CBD oil for anxiety varies from person to person, so itās important to start with a low dose and gradually increase it until you find the dose that works for you.
Common side effects of CBD oil include dry mouth, drowsiness, and changes in appetite.
CBD oil can interact with certain medications, so itās important to consult with your doctor before taking CBD oil if you are taking other medications.
The most common and effective form of CBD oil is a Full Spectrum CBD Oil Tincture, which is taken by placing a few drops under the tongue. The Full Spectrum extract ensures the most cannabinoids are present in the formula, making for a more potent effect.
The effects of CBD oil can last for up to six hours, depending on the dose and the individualās body chemistry.
While taking CBD oil for anxiety, it is important to practice healthy lifestyle habits such as regular exercise, eating a balanced diet, getting enough sleep, and reducing stress. Additionally, it is important to talk to your doctor or therapist about any other treatments or therapies that may be beneficial for your anxiety.
Anxiety disorders have a complex set of risk factors including genetics, brain chemistry, personality, and life events. Studies show that anxiety disorders are the most common mental condition, affecting 40 million Americans, or 18.1% of the population. Although common and highly treatable, only around 36% of those suffering receive professional treatment.
Anxiety is probably one of the most common uses for CBD out there. With many consumers looking to get off addictive prescription drugs, they are looking to the power of plant-based wellness to help keep them calm. To many, itās any easy choice: an artificial pill with a long list of side effects or a product produced from a simple plant. But why does something that has been so heavily stigmatized for the past century have such a profound affect on the human body? CBD works by activating your bodyās endocannabinoid system, a network of sensors built in to your nervous system activated by cannabis-derived compounds like CBD.
What the Science Says
Surveys show that around 17% of Americans are using CBD as part of their daily routine. Many say that CBD helps them keep their cool during stressful work days and get to sleep faster in the evenings. While much of the information floating around is anecdotal, more institutions are starting to publish research as to provide a scientific backing as to how exactly CBD works. Studies have shown that systematically administered CBD reduced acute increases in heart rate and blood pressure induced by stress, as well as delaying the anxigenic effects of stress in the EPM.
In another study, findings strongly suggested the potential for CBD as a treatment for anxiety disorders. CBD reduced experimentally induced anxiety in healthy controls, and also reduced the anxiety levels of patients with Social Anxiety Disorder. Limited results in healthy subjects also support the efficacy of CBD in acutely enhancing fear extinction, suggesting potential for the treatment of PTSD, or for enhancing cognitive behavioral therapy.
Overall, existing preclinical evidence strongly supports the potential of CBD as a treatment for anxiety disorders. CBD exhibits a broad range of actions, including anxiolytic, panicolytic, and anticompulsive actions, as well as a decrease in conditioned fear expression, enhancement of fear extinction, reconsolidation blockade, and prevention of the long-term anxiogenic effects of stress.
So how can CBD help me?
The short answer is: it depends. CBD affects everyone differently, so we cannot make any exact promises about individual results. What we can do is provide you with some tools that will give you the best chance at achieving the results you are looking for.
Be Consistent. Whether you are experiencing constant anxiety or have occasional spikes, regular CBD use will typically lead to more regular results. Even if you are feeling fine during your normal dosing time, make sure you donāt skip. If you experience anxiety spikes, take an additional dose when needed.
Donāt give up! While there may be stories out there of some people having these instant change-of-life moments, those are more rare than you would think. Give yourself time. Most of our customers find that they donāt instantly feel better, but when they take a break from CBD, how much the CBD had been helping them becomes apparent very quickly.
Listen to your body. If you find that CBD is helpful early in the day but begins to wear off around the same time in the afternoon, adjust your dosing accordingly. Consider adding a half dose around the time you usually begin to feel anxious again, or breaking up your morning dose into intervals throughout the day.
